Ten-minute weld station setup

I start each shift by staging leads, taping trip hazards, checking extinguisher dates, and pulling 7018 from the hot box (250°F) with 6010 ready so I can strike the first arc in under 10 minutes without a safety shortcut. I tack a 1x1 scrap as a “strike pad” next to the piece during staging, clamp the ground to it, and do a two‑second test to dial amperage so the first real bead is clean. If QC won’t allow a tab, I keep a small coupon in my pocket and test off the skid, but the tab saves me more time and keeps arc starts off the work.
